People who are new to the online business and are starting out their own website, wanting to register domains, host your website with relevant hosting services like shared hosting, dedicated hosting, cloud hosting or any one of the top 10 windows hosting services and finally set up our blogs.
When all goes well with the website, our next center of focus comes to emails, as they help us drive traffic, by notifying the readers and customers about the new or upcoming things on our blog or website. Also, it’s very obvious that when we think of emailing platform, Gmail wins over, due to its popularity for being a very well-organized email system.
But let me tell you, there are some things we are doing wrong with our Gmail accounts. Read more to find what they are.
1. Keeping too many drafts
‘Compose’ button is the simplest way to create a bunch of drafts and you will have no idea who created those, and when. Through this saving feature, we unintentionally save hundreds of empty and useless drafts. Sometimes we misuse drafts for saving our important information like setting reminders, list of things we have to do or maybe we saves emails that are never sent.
2. Deleting emails to get to inbox zero
We are so obsessed with cleaning that many times we delete unread emails without thinking for a while. Many of us use even apps for clearing out inbox which are wholly dedicated to gamify the process. One such app is The Email Game.
3. Marking everything as read
When we mark a message as read in our inbox the number of inbox count decreases. But, the real problem comes when you haven’t read the mail that you have marked as read, you think and say to yourself will check later. And finally you forget.
4. Having too many unread mails
Many of us get into a habit of letting the emails piled up which creates a digital mess and disorganize your emails. Yet at times it is easy to handle those 145 unread emails that popped into your inbox over the weekend.
5.Sending emails to yourself
Cloud services and the storage facilities are such a boon, you are no more required to send emails to yourself, with documents attachments or links which you want to save. But, for many of us it seems easier to send an email because then it will be in the inbox forever. Now, utilize your Drive to store all the items in one place.
6. Overloading of labels and folders
What’s in a name? Well, everything! And when it comes to dividing our inbox into labels and folders, naming them properly does wonders to how your gmail inbox looks too. Everything is clearly set, and we remember why we had started it in the first place.
7. Mixing up Reply and Reply all
There are times when we just move the cursor and click on the ‘Reply’ in a group mail without noticing that we should have pressed ‘Reply All’. Also, at times, we hit the ‘Reply All’ when we are in a loop with somebody.
So, now we can very well make out where we are going wrong in our email practices. We can improve them in the above-mentioned ways. Do you have something to add to the list? Share with us in the comment section.
